Glass Cloud ‘Ivy & Wine’ (Official Video)

Glass Cloud

I’m kind of surprised a video didn’t surface before the album release, that seems to be the way labels do it these days, but here it is now. The first music video from the rather spiffing  Glass Cloud ‘Ivy & Wine’.

In case you’d somehow missed the band, who I personally tip for great things, they’re composed of current and former members of the likes of The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Of Mice and Men and Sky Eats Airplane. Their debut record ‘The Royal Thousand’ is a corker and out now on Basick Records.

Glass Cloud debut new track

Glass Cloud

Glass Cloud, the badass band featuring former and current members of the Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Of Mice and Men and Sky Eats Airplane have debuted another new track from their upcoming record ‘The Royal Thousand’ Said album will be brought to you July 2nd by those ever lovely folks over at Basick Records. Some sweet pre-order packages are available.

Why are Glass Cloud so good you ask? Because it just seems to be about songs straight up. Kind of like Killswitch is just about songs. Everyone can play in this band but no one’s showing off, it’s all about those massive grooves and BIG hooks. It’s not ground breaking, but there’s always been something to be said for the firmer ground I think.

The band’s latest track ‘If He Dies, He Dies’ debuted earlier today. Check it out below.

Basick sign Glass Cloud

Glass Cloud

I actually wasn’t too sure about this at first but after sitting with it a few days I think Basick Records might just have done it again. Not that I’m surprised and nor should you be.

Glass Cloud are composed of Joshua Travis of The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza and former Sky Eats Airplane and Of Mice and Men frontman Jerry Roush. As a result you can take a certain guess as to how the band sound, the 8 string riffing and odd timing of Danza combined with the more metalcore based vocal approach of Roush. It’s pretty fucking chunky and pretty fucking catchy. Which if you ask me is a sweet deal. Though don’t get me wrong, they’re not exactly starting a whole new trend here.

The band also features bassist Travis Sykes and drummer Chad Hasty, who are both names unfamiliar to me but I’m certain they are formidable musicians nonetheless. The first track from Glass Cloud’s debut album ‘ The Royal Thousand’, which is released July 2nd in Europe, is available now as Soundcloud stream and I’ve embedded it below just cause I’m nice like that.
